Terms
Last updated July 9, 2026
These terms describe how a Garnet build works: a scoping conversation, a scoped proposal, a commissioned build installed in your building, and the support that follows. They may be updated. A signed proposal and statement of work govern the specifics of your build; where those documents and this page differ, the signed documents control. Questions? Email info@garnetgrid.com.
1. Who we are
"Garnet," "we," or "us" means Garnet Grid Consulting LLC, the operator of this website and the firm behind a Garnet private-AI build. By using this website or engaging us to scope or build a private AI, you agree to these Terms.
2. What Garnet is
Garnet is a bespoke private-AI build: hardware and software, designed and assembled for you, that runs where you put it: in your building, on a dedicated system we install and run. It answers with the network switched off. There is no free app to download; the Garnet software is delivered as part of a commissioned build and is not sold or licensed on its own. Two kinds of thing can be bought directly on this site, through Stripe checkout links shown beside each item on this site: fixed-scope engagements (a deposit or a fixed fee, applied as the page describes at the time you buy) and document products (written material delivered as files, with a non-transferable licence to use them inside your organisation). Stripe processes the payment; we never see your card. This website and any evaluation material are otherwise provided so you can decide whether to scope a build.
Document products are delivered immediately. When you buy one you are asking for delivery to begin at once, and Stripe asks you to accept these terms at checkout before taking payment. Accepting them ends the right to withdraw that would otherwise apply to digital content bought at a distance — in the UK and EU, the fourteen-day right. That does not touch the things we put right regardless, which are set out on Refunds: a file that will not download, a file that is not what the page described, and a charge you did not make.
3. Scoping a build
Everything starts with a conversation. When you scope a build, you're booking time with the engineer who will do the work, not a sales call or a checkout. We talk through what you need to keep private, the tasks you want the system to do, your building and infrastructure, and your constraints. There's no obligation on either side to proceed, and nothing is charged for the conversation itself.
4. The scoped proposal
If a build makes sense, we write a scoped proposal: what the system will do, the hardware it will run on, what "done" looks like, the timeline, and the fixed price. Family-office and private builds start from $250,000; enterprise and institutional builds are priced per engagement. Nothing is binding until you and we sign the proposal and its accompanying statement of work. Those signed documents, not this page, define the deliverables, milestones, payment schedule, and any warranty or acceptance terms for your specific build.
5. The commissioned build, the hardware lease, and your data
Once signed, we design, assemble, install, and run the build described in your statement of work. The hardware is provided and maintained under a managed lease: Garnet retains ownership of the physical hardware, while your data, your prompts, and the system's outputs are yours and stay in your building. There is no remote kill-switch: nothing we do remotely can switch the system off. The airgap is a capability you switch on, not a state we impose. How the machine is maintained and updated is settled in your statement of work: a visit, a network window you open on your own schedule, or media sent to you by post. A standing connection is one option among several, not a requirement. The commercial terms, including the lease, the ongoing service fee, and any license terms for components inside your build, are defined in your signed proposal and statement of work, which control.
6. Trademarks and intellectual property
Garnet™ and Garnet Grid™, together with the Garnet name, the logo, and the design and content of this website, are trademarks and property of Garnet Grid Consulting LLC and are protected under applicable law. U.S. federal trademark applications for GARNET and GARNET GRID have been filed in International Class 042. The Garnet system architecture, software, interfaces, and build methodology are proprietary to Garnet Grid Consulting LLC. Nothing on this site grants any right or license to use these marks or materials without our prior written permission. All rights reserved.
7. Your responsibilities
You're responsible for providing suitable space, power, network, and physical access for the build, and for the lawful use of the system after handover. You are responsible for your data and for how you and your people use the system's output. Because a Garnet build runs on a dedicated system in your own building, custody of your data is yours; we can't see it, and we're not a processor of it once the build is handed over.
8. Post-handover support
Support after handover (its scope, response times, and cost) is defined in your statement of work or a separate support agreement. Any support access to your systems is granted by you, for a stated purpose, and doesn't create standing or automated access. When a support engagement ends, so does the access.
9. Recurring engagements and subscriptions
Some engagements are bought once. Others run monthly or annually, and the engagement catalogue says which next to each price.
When you are billed. A subscription begins when your first payment succeeds and renews from that date — monthly plans each month, annual plans each year. Billing is handled by Stripe.
Before a renewal. For any engagement that renews automatically, we will send you written notice between 30 and 15 days before each renewal date, saying what will renew, on what date, and at what price. If your engagement includes leased hardware or its continuous operation, that notice will also be sent by certified mail unless you tell us in writing that email alone is sufficient.
If a price changes. We will not change the price of a period you have already paid for. Where a renewal is at a new price, the notice above will state it, and you may cancel before the renewal date at no charge.
How to cancel. Write to info@garnetgrid.com and we will send you a link to manage or cancel the subscription. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for, and you keep the service until then. The unused part of a period is not refunded.
If a payment fails. Work on that engagement pauses, and if the payment is not completed the subscription ends. If you complete it, the subscription continues from that point: we do not go back and do the work the pause missed, and the period is not extended to make up for it.
If we stop serving a period you have paid for. The same rule applies in both directions. A period that has been billed is not refunded in part — not when you cancel, and not when we discontinue an engagement. If we discontinue one you subscribe to, we will tell you and stop billing you.
If we discontinue an engagement. We will give you at least 30 days of written notice before the discontinuation takes effect, and we will not bill a new period that we already know we will not serve.
What this section does not change. Nothing here alters section 2 on what you are licensed to use, section 5 on your data, or section 6 on trademarks and intellectual property. Subscribing to an engagement grants no rights beyond those sections.
10. Acceptable use
Don't use this website or any evaluation material to do anything illegal, to harm others, or to violate others' rights, and don't attempt to disrupt or abuse the site or our infrastructure. What you do with a delivered build in your building is yours to govern, within the law.
11. No warranty beyond what's written
This website and any pre-engagement evaluation material are provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. Warranties for a commissioned build, if any, are stated expressly in your signed proposal and statement of work, and nothing on this page adds to or replaces them. AI output can be inaccurate or incomplete; use judgment, and don't treat it as professional advice.
12. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, and except as your signed proposal and statement of work state otherwise, Garnet Grid Consulting LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from this website or from a commissioned build. Nothing here limits liability that can't be limited by law.
13. Changes & contact
We may update these Terms and will revise the date above; the signed documents for your build are not changed by an update to this page. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Questions: info@garnetgrid.com.
